University of Auckland – Research
May 30, 2019 @ 8:00 am - June 30, 2019 @ 5:00 pm
My name is Lauren and I am currently doing my Master of Health Psychology at the University of Auckland in New Zealand. During my studies, I realised that there is very little research that investigates how to support people who have a stoma despite the challenges that people can sometimes face. In response, we are conducting a study on the potential benefits of a brief, anonymous, online, writing exercise for people who have a permanent or temporary stoma. Participants must live in New Zealand or Australia, have a stoma for at least the duration of the study, be over 18 years of age, and be fluent at reading and writing in English.
The time required of participants is minimal over a one month period – first a 15-minute questionnaire followed by a guided online writing exercise (30 mins max). You would then be sent a brief follow-up questionnaire one week later and then again one month later. Those who complete the writing exercise can go into the draw to win an Apple iPad.
